Hamlin, PA - Hamlin Speedway Closes Out 2011 Racing Season In A Blaze Of Glory

The premier racing attraction in the Poconos, the Hamlin Speedway, closed out it's very successful 2011 racing season last evening in another fabulous blaze of glory as 146 competition filled racers and another standing room only crowd came out to put the exclamation point on just an incredible 2011 season for the Smith Family at their Pocono Mountains clay covered playground. Even though the Smith Family waged a season long war with the forces of Mother Nature, the racing action at the 1/5 mile oval brought to the forefront many more racing stars that will portray a bright future ahead for the successful promotion team. Hamlin, PA - Eddie Strada Bags a Double In 600's While Brandon Edgar Scores In 270's To Highlight Hamlin Speedway Micro Mountain Nationals Victories

Hamlin Speedway sat idle for four consecutive Saturday evenings during the month of August due to weather related issues. The speedway returned to action over the Labor Day weekend to jump start the 2011 season once again and came away with a spectacular racing program that thrilled the racing fans. Last evening, with the largest crowd of the season cheering their racing heroes on and 150 eager and talented racers on hand doing battle, the evening of racing activities punctuated the fact the Hamlin Speedway offers the best in small track racing action with their diversified racing format. The standing room only crowd at the speedway witnessed an absolutely spectacular race show from start to finish as all of the talented competitors continue to seek the fast path to glory in their racing endeavors. The cool weather that rolled in after the sun went down put a chill in the air, but the seven divisions of racing excitement kept the heat on and left a lasting impression with the fans who pack the stands each week to see the stars of Hamlin perform their magic on the 1/5 mile racetrack. When the final checkered flag fell from starter Russ Furry, new stars emerged into the Hamlin spotlight as the fifth annual Micro Mountain Nationals provided a showcase for the impressive parade of top drivers to step into the spotlight.

Hamlin, PA - Hamlin Speedway Gets Back On Track With Spectacular Labor Day Show

The forces of Mother Nature have proved to be greatest adversary of the 2011 racing season for the Hamlin Speedway. Undaunted the Smith Family and the great staff at the speedway, along with 122 star studded racers and a great crowd on hand got the final portion of the Hamlin racing season revved up once again and the spectacular seven division racing card on Saturday evening went off without a hitch. Featuring Junior Slingshot and Super Slinger extra distance and payout events, the show was run off close to perfection and was completed at 10:14 in the evening. The speedway was ravaged by Hurricane Irene a week ago but Randy Smith and staff whipped the 1/2 mile playground back in shape for the Saturday show and the speedway remained tacky yet challenging all night long as the talented roster of driving stars showed their style and guile with side by side and three wide racing action that kept the crowd on their feet all night long and once again justifying the fact the Hamlin Speedway is where the stars come out to shine and the results are spectacular. Hamlin, PA - Familiar Faces Share The Winner's Wreath In Successful Racing Card At Hamlin Speedway

Hamlin Speedway Promoter Randy Smith had just about completed his preparation work on Friday afternoon for the busy Saturday of racing ahead at the premier speedway in the Pocono Mountains when a quick hitting thunderstorm unleashed a torrent of water on his freshly manicured speedway.  In a heartbeat a ton of hard work went down the drain but undaunted Smith fought back by traveling to his speedway at first light on Saturday morning and began the process of re-doing the same prep work for the speedway that was washed away a day before. A gentle breeze that spun through the grounds of the Hamlin Speedway late Saturday afternoon gave hope for a more pleasant evening as the temperatures continue to soar on the East Coast. The breeze stopped and the thoughts of staying cool evaporated quickly but for the more than 125 racers who braved the elements to go racing, it was business as usual as the Smith Family presented their tenth racing card of the season at their 1/5 mile lightning quick speedway. The late arriving crowd was treated to an excellent night of side by side racing action throughout the evening as the new track surface held up well during the eight feature event racing card that wrapped things up at 11 PM. Hamlin, PA - Youth Is Served As Hamlin Speedway Racing Features Six Teenagers Sharing The Glory At Tremendous Holiday Show

Fabulous weather and a serene setting in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania provided the backdrop for a spectacular evening of tremendous racing excitement as the Hamlin Speedway ushered in the Fourth of July Holiday weekend on Saturday evening. The entrance to the speedway had a backlog of trailers as anxious 133 entries stuffing the pit area and included 43 of the top Slingshot drivers in the United States today. Speedway Promoters Denise and Randy Smith greeted a standing room only crowd with a dynamic racing card that will be talked about for some time to come. Hamlin, PA - Nine Feature Events With Charlie Shaver Winning Two Highlight Successful Evening At Hamlin Speedway

The Pocono Mountains have suffered through a wet summer thus far this season and while Mother Nature has hindered the number of races hosted at the Hamlin Speedway in 2011 it hasn't diminished the ultimate need for speed for the 120 talented racers that converged into the speedway pit area on Saturday evening as the heavy rain from Thursday and Friday gave way to a perfect Saturday.  After a week off due to inclement weather, the Smith Family was able to get back on track and present another banner night of racing activity for the packed house of eager racing fans who came out to enjoy their racing heroes performing on the well groomed 1/5 mile speedway.  Playing catch-up with two postponed races from way back on May 21st when the racing was halted due to heavy fog, the well-trained speedway staff was able to present the entire hotly contested regular show of seven feature events plus the two make-up events and complete the exciting show by 10:30 PM. ... Friday June 3 & Saturday June 4, 2011 - Spring Into Summer Sizzler V!

Hamlin, PA - Blockbuster 6th Annual Two-Day Sizzzler Electrifies Hamlin Speedway Weekend

Doing things the proper way elevated the Hamlin Speedway another notch above the rest as the successful promotional team of Denise and Randy Smith ushered in their 6th Annual two-day Spring into Summer Sizzler over the past weekend at the Hamlin Speedway located near the junction of Routes 191 and 590 in Hamlin, Pennsylvania.  The Blockbuster weekend of racing activities brought out 121 entries for the Friday night racing and followed up Saturday with 144 entries for a two day total of 265 entries topping last year's numbers of 98 entries on Friday and 126 on Saturday.  For the Smith Family, who have long standing ties with the greater racing community, the two day event proved to be the icing on the cake for their promotional efforts as they took over the shuttered Hamlin facility in 2006 and through hard work and vision and a dedicated work force, the speedway has been resurrected into one of the top speedways in the country for small division racing action.  The now famous picnic, a roaring bonfire and .......Click Here For Full Story & Pictures..

Hamlin, PA - Hamlin Speedway Turns Back Mother Nature To Ignite A Great Evening of Racing Excitement

With Mother Nature trying her best to deflate the hearts of those of us who live for the excitement that the world of motorsports brings to them, the Smith Family refused to yield and overcame a quick hitting shower during the first hot lap session at the speedway to produce another quality seven division racing program that had the fans on their way home at 10:35 PM.  The immediate area surrounding the Hamlin Speedway, located in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, were totally awash to the south of the speedway but the Smith Family and staff forged on and after the storm subsided the call for racers to assist in running in the track was met without hesitation and with just a short delay the racing kicked-off quickly and through the total co-operation of everyone involved the exciting racing action gave everyone in attendance another exceptional night of entertainment.  Buoyed by a field of 130 plus racers that was fueled by cancellations elsewhere ... Hamlin, PA - Hamlin Speedway Showcases Seven Feature Opener With Ryan Smith Capturing A Double On S&S Speedways Night

The twice cancelled Hamlin Speedway season opener was finally given the green light last evening by the powers above us and allowed Promoters Randy and Denise Smith to usher in an opening night of spectacular racing action at the Hamlin Speedway last evening when they welcomed in 138 talented racers from the surrounding five-state area to their premier short track facility located in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.  The great opening night crowd was treated to an all-out display of high-flying action on the new higher banked 1/5 mile racing facility and the new banking allowed for the daredevil talent to use all of the speed lanes and present a great evening of racing entertainment.  The racing action was completed at 10:45 and when was all said and done six happy winners found there way into victory circle...Click Here For Full Story & Pictures...
